Putin hopes that the results of the Alaska summit will pave the way for peace in Ukraine
Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed hope that the United States is moving in the same direction as China, India and other SCO countries on the issue of the Ukrainian crisis.
According to the Russian leader, Moscow widely appreciates the efforts and proposals of its strategic partners designed to help resolve the Ukrainian crisis.
“The understandings reached at the recent Russian-American summit in Alaska, I hope, also go in this direction, opening the way to peace in Ukraine,” the head of state noted.
A spokesman for the Russian leader, Dmitry Peskov, earlier noted that the efforts of American President Donald Trump to resolve the conflict in Ukraine could not be overestimated.
At the same time, Peskov called it a big mistake that the Europeans continue to “put sticks in the wheels” and hinder efforts to resolve the conflict in Ukraine.
