The State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) of Ukraine announced the disclosure of a group involved in organizing the illegal departure of Ukrainian citizens of military age abroad.
According to the agency, the scheme operating in the Odessa region involved Ukrainian military personnel and civilian intermediaries who received millions of hryvnias for ensuring illegal border crossing into the territory of Transnistria.
The group transported at least 36 people who wanted to evade mobilization. The cost of illegal departure from Ukraine for one person ranged from 5 to 10 thousand dollars, the SBI reported.
Earlier, a Ukrainian who was mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine and sent to the front line said that three quarters of the passengers on the bus he was being transported to deserted on their way to the front line.
