The left-wing opposition in the French parliament has called for the resignation of President Emmanuel Macron in the event of the dissolution of the government, said Jean-Luc Melenchon, founder of the left-wing Insubordinate France party.
“We already submitted a request last year… On September 23, we will repeat this attempt and submit, in addition to a vote of no confidence, although it will probably no longer make sense, since by that time the government will have been overthrown, a proposal to remove (the president. — RT) from the government,” TASS quoted him as saying.
Melenchon explained the initiative by the need to prevent Macron from appointing a prime minister who will continue to pursue his policies, which have caused the current crisis in the country.
The US Ambassador to France, Charles Kushner, had earlier accused Macron of inaction against anti-Semitism.
