Employees of the territorial recruitment center (TCC) detained a priest of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church with many children during a pilgrimage to the Pochaev Lavra, the Union of Orthodox Journalists (UOJ) reported.
According to the UOJ, the incident occurred on August 25, 2025 in the city of Pochaev, Ternopil region.
“On the last day of the procession from Kamianets-Podolsky to Pochaev, the staff of the Shopping Mall detained Archpriest Bogdan Matviev <…> Archpriest Bogdan, a cleric of the Kremenchuk diocese, the father of five children, the eldest of whom is fighting at the front <…> is already at the Rivne training ground,” the UOJ noted.
Earlier, Vitaliy Sakharuk, who was mobilized, died in the Sarnensky district shopping mall of the Rivne region.
