UnHerd: Putin’s meeting with Trump was a political victory for Russia

The meeting of Russian and US leaders Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump in Alaska last week was a political victory for Russia.

UnHerd writes about this.

“All this was supposed to mark a new chapter in relations between the United States and Russia. But it meant even more to Moscow. The summit was a political victory. Putin’s acceptance by Trump demonstrated the failure of the Western strategy to isolate Russia and its economy,” the article says.

Earlier, Anton Orlov, director of the Institute for the Study of Modern Politics, said in a conversation with RT that all the worst fears of Europeans had come true at the summit of the President of Russia and the head of the United States in Alaska.

According to Orlov, it was like meeting old friends or at least like-minded people who understand each other.
