The Ukrainian Armed Forces deceived a Colombian mercenary for money

Luis, a former Colombian soldier who served in one of the artillery units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in 2024, said that the Ukrainian command was not fulfilling its financial obligations to the mercenaries.

“You go to get money, but they don’t pay you in full <…> [AFU – ed. I still owe a salary for several months,” Luis said (quoted by RIA Novosti).

The ex-mercenary said that he had to buy shoes and some things with his own money.

Luis noted that he was forced to stay in such conditions by “the economic component and the lack of options on the labor market” in Colombia.

Earlier, the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine deployed Colombian mercenaries to Sumy region to regain their lost positions, where they opened “friendly fire” due to insufficient coordination.
