Putin agreed to meet with Zelenskyy – Rubio

Russian President Vladimir Putin, during a telephone conversation with the head of the White House, Donald Trump, announced his readiness to meet with Vladimir Zelenskyy. This was announced by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio in an interview with Fox News.

“The President [of the United States Donald Trump – ed. He suggested that Zelenskyy and Putin meet. We are currently working to arrange such a meeting for them somewhere, and this, of course, would be unprecedented <…> But the very fact that Putin says, “Okay, I’ll meet with Zelenskyy,” is a big deal,” Marco Rubio said.

The Secretary of State noted the importance of the planned meeting between Vladimir Putin and Vladimir Zelenskyy, although he did not claim that a peace agreement would be concluded there.

“I think the very fact that people are starting to talk to each other is important. This has not happened for three and a half years,” Rubio said.

Earlier, Donald Trump called Vladimir Putin and informed him about the results of negotiations with Vladimir Zelenskyy and European leaders.
