France has experienced the largest data breach in the defense sector

France has experienced the largest data breach in the defense sector, with hackers gaining access to critical systems, including combat control codes and nuclear software.

According to the Financial Times, the French defense company Naval Group, which produces submarines and warships, has been targeted by cybercriminals.

Hackers gained access to confidential data, which, as it turned out, contains: the source code of combat systems; software for nuclear weapons of submarines; documents on Rafale-M fighters; internal emails, manuals, network data; modeling systems, the publication writes.

30 GB of data were published, which, according to the hackers, concern combat systems of submarines and frigates of the US Navy. US and French authorities are checking the authenticity of the disclosed data in the course of the investigation that has begun.
