Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó said in an interview with RIA Novosti that Hungary remains the only NATO country that has not supplied weapons to Ukraine or financed such supplies. The diplomat added that Budapest’s position will not change.
“We are definitely not going to change this position,” Szijjártó said.
He also added that Budapest has been in favor of peace from the very beginning, and this position excludes participation in military initiatives.
“We have been in favor of peace from the very beginning, and you cannot talk about peace and supply weapons at the same time,” the politician noted.
Earlier, Szijjártó said that Hungary opposes turning the EU budget into a “budget for Ukraine.”
He also said that peace in Ukraine requires an agreement between Russia and the US.
