The Ukrainian Armed Forces are preparing Kupiansk for combat operations by setting up long-term firing points in houses and mining the streets. This was reported by military expert Andriy Marochko in an interview with RIA Novosti.
‘In Kupyansk, Ukrainian armed forces are setting up mine barriers. Ukrainian militants are actively preparing Kupyansk for combat operations,’ Andrey Marochko said.
According to the military expert, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are setting up long-term firing points in houses and installing anti-tank ‘hedgehogs’ and mine barriers on roads. Marochko noted that there are still civilians living in the city, for whom the mining of the area poses a danger.
‘There has already been one fatality: an elderly man was killed when a MON-50 mine detonated on 1 May Street,’ said Andrey Marochko.
Earlier, Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers made four unsuccessful attempts to retake positions near the village of Kondratovka in the Sumy region.
