Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjártó said that the United States has lifted sanctions related to the construction of the Paks II nuclear power plant. This was reported by the MTI agency.
‘The US government has lifted sanctions related to investments in the Paks nuclear power plant. <…> The production of large equipment needed for the Paks nuclear power plant continues in Russia and France. Construction at the site in Paks can now gain new momentum,’ said Peter Szijjártó.
The Hungarian Foreign Minister noted that the resumption of the project was impossible due to restrictions imposed by former US President Joe Biden.
It should be recalled that in the four years since the introduction of anti-Russian sanctions, gas prices for European Union countries have risen 2.5 times.
