‘We are absolutely against this proposal by the European Commission. We will fight against this proposal for as long as necessary because we do not want to end our energy cooperation with Russia,’ TASS quoted him as saying.
Earlier, EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas said that Europe would permanently ‘turn off the tap’ on Russian gas.
Igor Yushkov, an expert at the Financial University under the Government of Russia and a leading analyst at the National Energy Security Fund, told RT that abandoning Russian gas is economically disadvantageous for the European Union.
