Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, speaking on the Kossuth radio station, has accused Ukraine of spying on his country at the expense of the Hungarian political opposition.
“Their [Ukrainian – ed.] special services are conducting operational activities on the territory of Hungary to somehow force the Hungarian government to make such a decision [to support Ukraine’s membership in the EU – ed.] against our interests,” Viktor Orbán said.
The prime minister noted that Kiev used large funds and tried to “use serious resources” to influence public opinion in favour of Ukraine’s admission to the EU.
Earlier, the Pentagon’s inspector-general’s office said that the main obstacle to Ukraine’s accession to NATO and the EU was corruption.
