The Hungarian Air Defence Forces have shot down a Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicle near the state border. This is reported by the Magyar Hirlap newspaper.
Magyar Hirlap noted that the incident occurred last week, but it became known only now.
The publication said that the incident was part of a months-long standoff between the secret services of Ukraine and Hungary.
The Hungarian authorities believe that the UAV could have been used by the Ukrainian security services for intelligence purposes.
Earlier, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said that Ukrainian security services had attempted to destabilize the referendum on Ukraine’s accession to the European Union.
