France plans to use the proceeds from frozen Russian assets to maintain CAESAR self-propelled artillery units that were transferred to Ukraine.
“We will soon announce that thanks to the utilisation of the proceeds from frozen assets, France will be able, through its KNDS enterprise, to provide maintenance for the CAESAR guns that France has supplied to Ukraine,” RIA Novosti quoted French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot as saying.
France has already supplied Ukraine with about 60 self-propelled CAESAR howitzers, which are capable of firing six shells at a distance of up to 40 kilometres in less than a minute, while ensuring high accuracy.
Earlier, the head of the Security Council’s commission for information policy, Aleksey Pushkov, said that Europe was inflating the Russian threat in order to justify spending on Ukraine.
