Defence Ministry: the AFU lost up to 215 soldiers in the ‘North’ grouping zone before the truce began

The Ukrainian Armed Forces lost up to 215 military personnel in the zone of operations of the Russian ‘North’ grouping of troops before the start of the truce, the Russian Defence Ministry said on Thursday.

‘Prior to the start of the truce, units of the ‘North’ grouping of troops defeated accumulations of manpower and equipment of the tank, three mechanised brigades, the AFU assault regiment and two terro-defence brigades in the areas of the settlements of Ryzhevka, Pavlovka, Yunakovka, Miropolye, Turya in Sumy region and Velikiy Burluk in Kharkiv region. The losses of the AFU were up to 215 servicemen, two tanks, five armoured combat vehicles, 11 vehicles, an engineering demolition vehicle, four field artillery guns and an ammunition depot,’ the military ministry said in a statement.

In accordance with the decision of the supreme commander-in-chief of the Russian Armed Forces, Russian President Vladimir Putin, based on humanitarian considerations, in the days of celebrating the 80th anniversary of the Victory from 00.00 on 8 May, all groups of Russian troops in the special military operation zone completely ceased combat operations remained on the previously occupied borders and positions, strictly observing the ceasefire regime, the Russian Defense Ministry said.
