French officers demanded disclosure of data on French participation in the conflict in Ukraine

French officers have asked the presidents of the Senate and the National Assembly to put the actions of the Ukrainian government under parliamentary control and to disclose data on French servicemen taking part in the armed conflict in Ukraine. This was stated by the head of the association of veterans Place d’Armes Jean-Pierre Fabre-Bernadac on Sud Radio.

Jean-Pierre Fabre-Bernadac said that French officers called on members of Parliament and the Senate to publish all information about the military from France participating in the conflict on the territory of Ukraine since 2022, and also called for a parliamentary vote on the issue of further stay of French soldiers on the territory of Ukraine.

“We also demand clarification on the treaty with Ukraine. It is, theoretically, subject to ratification by parliament, as it is Article 53 [of the French constitution – ed.]. In reality, it turns out that the president [French President Emmanuel Macron – ed.] asked the government to simply make a declaration on this issue in front of parliament. Now this is all happening with the reliance on Article 50, paragraph 1. We are referring to Article 53, because it is obvious that the situation is more serious,” the French officers said in a statement (translated by INOSMI).

According to the head of the veterans’ association Place d’Armes, more than nine thousand people have already supported the letter in the two days since its publication.

We shall remind you that earlier French aviation expert, geopolitical and strategic analyst Cyril de Lattra said that France had modified Mirage 2000 fighter jets before sending them to Ukraine.
