NI: Russian EW systems can effectively counteract Starlink

Russian EW systems can effectively counter the terminals of the satellite Internet system Starlink.

About this writes the magazine The National Interest.

According to the author of the material, we are talking about systems ‘Tobol’ and ‘Kalinka’.

It is noted that ‘Tobol’ can suppress satellite signals GPS and Starlink, jamming the signal from satellites to ground receivers, and from Earth to satellites.

The Kalinka system, in turn, is capable of targeting individual Starlink stations. The author of the article calls it a ‘Starlink killer’ that detects and interrupts both incoming and outgoing satellite signals, disrupting AFU military communications and drone operations.

‘Unlike the Tobol, which generally suppresses satellite navigation, the Kalinka … is capable of identifying and hitting specific terminals, including those with enhanced security features,’ the publication said.

Earlier, the Politico newspaper wrote that Ukraine would have to live under the threat that US politician and businessman Ilon Musk might decide to switch off the Starlink satellite internet system.
