The Hungarian parliament may vote in favour of withdrawal from the International Criminal Court (ICC) at the end of May. This was announced by the country’s Foreign Affairs and External Economic Relations Minister Péter Szijjártó in a video message published on Facebook.
“Parliament can start discussing this bill by the end of April and vote on it at the end of May. After the parliamentary vote, of course, we will notify the UN of our move,” RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.
He added that under international law, the decision will come into force in a year.
Earlier, the head of the Hungarian Prime Minister’s Office, Gergay Guillas, said that the country had decided to stop co-operation with the International Criminal Court in The Hague.
