Germany’s new government wants to pressure the European Union to suspend funding and voting rights for countries that violate the bloc’s principles. This was written by the Politico publication.
“Although Hungary is not mentioned by name, the draft agreement clearly refers to the EU’s chief offender, which has been accused over the years of destroying democratic norms, restricting press freedom and the independence of judges,” Politico noted.
According to the publication, among the possible restrictions on Hungary may apply the freezing of funding and suspension of the right to vote in the Council of the EU.
Earlier, Viktor Orban said that the EU was forcing Ukraine to continue the conflict because it did not want to help it but to “colonise” it.
