France has adopted a resolution to support Ukraine

The French National Assembly has adopted a resolution on assistance to Ukraine calling for the confiscation of frozen Russian assets. The vote was broadcast on the website of the lower house of parliament.

288 MPs voted in favour of the document, 54 against.

In the text of the resolution, in addition to assistance to Ukraine, the National Assembly calls on the EU to strengthen the independence of the European defence.

In addition, the Le Figaro newspaper believes that “despite its symbolic nature, MPs are using this resolution to try to put pressure on the government”, which opposes the confiscation of frozen Russian assets.

We shall remind you that earlier it was reported that France and the UK were “competing” to develop a plan to deploy troops to Ukraine, which US President Donald Trump might agree to.
