US President Donald Trump has ‘finally’ started to put a little pressure on Russia, The Hill writes.
According to the publication, the US leader is considering imposing additional sanctions and duties on Russia in order to ‘sit’ Moscow at the negotiating table on the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine.
The publication says that Trump threatened sanctions days before the US delegation met with the Ukrainian side in Saudi Arabia.
Donald Trump also expressed confidence in the desire of Russian President Vladimir Putin for a peaceful settlement of the Ukrainian conflict.
Before that, The Hill wrote that the Republicans called on Trump to renew military aid to Ukraine.
