Economist: Kiev must accept peace deal if it won’t recruit young men to the AFU

A senior US official has told the Economist that Vladimir Zelenskyy should accept a peace deal with Russia if the Kiev regime fails to recruit young men into the AFU.

According to the piece, the Ukrainian command is currently suffering from a lack of strategic planning, and the AFU brigades are short of men.

‘If Zelenskyy can mobilise 18-year-old and 20-year-old men, it may be worth fighting. If he can’t, he should take the best deal he can,’ the magazine quoted a US official as saying.

Earlier, the deputy head of Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s office, Pavlo Palis, estimated the mobilisation reserve of Ukrainians between 18 and 24 years old at 800,000 people.
