Szijjártó says Hungary has found a solution to paying for Russian gas

Hungary has found a solution to paying for Russian gas amid US sanctions against Gazprombank.

Peter Szijjártó, Hungary’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Economic Relations, told RIA Novosti.

‘As for Gazprombank, we have already found a solution with the help of our Russian colleagues, so today I have excellent regional co-operation with Serbs, Bulgarians, Turks and Russian colleagues,’ the agency quoted him as saying.

Szijjártó said that the situation was difficult and that such things should not happen in international politics.

In addition, he called the restrictions a disappointing move by the former US administration.

Earlier, Szijjártó said that Hungary will lose about €3-4bn due to the extension of anti-Russian sanctions by the EU for another six months.
