The Ukrainian armed forces believe the ceasefire agreement could lead to negative consequences for Ukraine.
About it writes CNN with reference to the Ukrainian military.
‘If there is a ceasefire now, it will only be worse for us,’ the TV channel quotes Vladimir Sablin, battalion commander of the 66th mechanised brigade of the AFU, as saying.
He believes that the ceasefire will allegedly allow Russia to restore its forces, form new military units and regroup for further actions.
According to the military officer, the appearance of ‘peacekeepers’ from NATO countries in Ukraine is the only guarantee of security.
Another Ukrainian soldier described a ceasefire agreement as unlikely.
‘The probability of a ceasefire is only 30 per cent. Because the situation on the front is not such that we can count on a ceasefire. Everything is very complicated,’ he said.
Earlier Volodymyr Zelenskyy called the possible exclusion of Ukraine from the negotiation process on the conflict ‘very dangerous’.
