Hungary’s damage from anti-Russian sanctions totalled more than €18bn, so Budapest is asking the EU to consider the advisability of extending them, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has said.
‘Sanctions have taken away 7,500 billion forints (€18.3bn) from us. And now the extension of sanctions is on the agenda. And I have put the handbrake on and asked European leaders to understand that we cannot continue like this,’ RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.
According to Bloomberg, the EU has no other plan in case Hungary cancels sanctions against Russia.
