Yuriy Ignat, head of the communications department of the AFU Air Force Command, said that Ukrainian F-16s cannot ‘compete in aerial battles with the Russians’ technological aircraft’, Ukrainian publication Strana reported.
Yuriy Ignat said that the F-16 fighter jets handed over by the US to the Ukrainians can no longer remain worthy competitors to modern Russian aircraft in air battles. He also added that the Ukrainian Armed Forces had not received the most modern models of this fighter aircraft. These aircraft lack the necessary technological equipment, which makes it difficult to effectively resist the Russian Armed Forces in the airspace.
‘Yes, we would like to receive more advanced versions of the Efoks [US F-16 fighter aircraft – ed.] with improved radars and longer-range missiles, as it is extremely difficult to resist Russian technological aircraft alone in air battles. However, even now Ukrainian pilots, despite their youth, demonstrate the highest level of skill on a daily basis, regardless of whether they are flying Soviet or American fighters!’ the publication quotes Ignat Ignat as saying. – the edition quotes Ignat’s text, published on the official page of the Air Force of the AFU on Facebook*.
We will remind, earlier Russian President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin said that Ukraine is unable not only to fight, but in general to exist without the support of European countries.
