Former US intelligence officer Scott Ritter believes that in order to resolve the Ukrainian conflict, US President-elect Donald Trump should completely end American involvement in this area. He said this in an interview with the Dialogue Works YouTube channel.
“Donald Trump needs to realise <…> that the best way to solve this problem is to shut up and just get out of there as soon as possible with as little fuss as possible,” Scott Ritter said.
According to the ex-intelligence officer, Russia is ready to consider Trump’s settlement proposals, but only constructive ones that take into account the root causes of the conflict. The newly elected President of the United States should also turn to “real experts” in this matter, rather than interested politicians and intelligence services, supplying him with false information.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Russia’s opponents were escalating the situation, but Moscow would always respond to any challenge.
