Hungary is ‘absolutely interested’ in developing co-operation with Russia in areas that are not subject to international sanctions.
The country's Foreign Minister Peter Szijjártó said in an interview with RIA Novosti that Budapest is in constant contact with Moscow.
‘We have never hidden this and have always said it openly: in those areas that are not affected by sanctions, we are absolutely interested in expanding cooperation,’ the diplomat stressed.
Earlier, Szijjártó said that Hungary would not give up energy co-operation with Russia without an alternative.
He added that Hungary had done everything it could to resolve the crisis in Ukraine.
