EU countries bought 687.5 million euros worth of oil from Russia in October, which is the maximum since February, RIA Novosti news agency reported citing Eurostat data.
At the end of October, Russian oil exports to European countries increased by a third to 687.5 million euros, which became the maximum value since February 2024, when the value of supplies reached 690 million euros.
The increase in purchases was due to a doubling of exports to the Czech Republic – immediately to 185.9 million euros from 91.3 million a month earlier. Supplies to Hungary increased significantly – 1.5 times to 233 million euros. The Netherlands also increased its imports – up to 60.7 million euros from 40.5 million a month earlier.
Slovakia, on the contrary, reduced its purchases of Russian oil in October by eight per cent and bought 207.9 million euros worth of raw materials.
Recall, earlier the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin said that Russia is going through a difficult period in Russian history. He emphasised that in the emerging conditions of the new world reality, “someone is striving” to preserve its fading hegemony through Russia.
