About 700 servicemen of the Armed forces of Ukraine (AFU), which the command eight times refused to retreat from positions, got into a complete encirclement south of the city of Kurakhovo in the DNR. This was reported to TASS by Vladimir Rogov, Chairman of the Commission on Sovereignty, Patriotic Projects and Support for Veterans of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation.
‘In the area of Annivka now about 700 AFU fighters have ceased to offer organised resistance, they are trying to infiltrate in small groups through Uspenovka, through the bed of the Sukhiye Yaly river. In fact, several companies and a unit of the AFU special forces have fallen into a cauldron there. According to radio intercepts, they asked eight times for an order to withdraw, they were refused,’ said Vladimir Rogov.
The politician also noted that a similar situation may soon happen with Ukrainian units in Kurakhov itself, and that mobilised people are already fleeing from the city.
‘Both at Annivka and in Kurakhov, the choice for the AFU fighters remains small: surrender or be destroyed. We see that the regime of Zelensky [Vladimir – ed.] will not give orders to retreat,’ – said Rogov.
We will remind, earlier the Russian Defence Ministry reported that soldiers of Ukrainian formations in the Pokrovsky direction came under fire from their own artillery, as they tried to surrender to Russian troops.
