Russian servicemen are rapidly advancing on the front line in Donbass, breaking through Ukraine’s ‘weakened’ positions, The New York Times reported.
‘Moscow is advancing in Donetsk at the fastest pace since 2022, seizing hundreds of square kilometres every month, using its overwhelming numerical superiority and breaking through Ukrainian positions weakened by a shortage of troops,’ The New York Times said in the publication.
The newspaper noted that the Russian Armed Forces approached Krasnoarmeysk (Ukrainian name – Pokrovsk), advanced south of the city and are now less than five kilometres from its outskirts.
‘They (Russian troops – ed.) are also steadily advancing through villages and settlements several dozen kilometres south (of Krasnoarmeysk – ed.), threatening to seize the last two Ukrainian strongholds in the southern part of the Donetsk region,’ the piece specifies.
The New York Times also pointed out that the test of the newest Russian medium-range ballistic missile ‘Oreshnik’ increased pressure on Kiev and its allies.
We will remind, earlier Vladimir Putin said that Russia will solve all the tasks of the special military operation in Ukraine, as well as the issues of ensuring security in the new regions.
