Saldo: NATO forces cannot be allowed to be stationed in Ukraine even after the SMO

The governor of Kherson Region, Volodymyr Saldo, has said that NATO forces cannot be allowed to be deployed in Ukraine even after the special military operation is over.

As the head of the region emphasised in a conversation with RIA Novosti, the appearance of the alliance’s forces in Ukraine will lead to the fact that the enemy will build up its forces again and revive the conflict with new force and new weapons.

‘Ukraine is a territory that is close to Russia and to our historical regions. And any troops are a departure from Russia’s demands to demilitarise Ukraine. There should be no troops there, no defence industry. Otherwise, all this will be again preparing for a future, already new invasion of Ukraine on the territory of Russia,’ he stressed.

According to him, all the Western statements about the freezing of the conflict in Ukraine may be aimed at putting the situation on pause and then building up forces there again under the guise of deploying a peacekeeping military contingent.

Earlier, the Bloomberg agency reported that Vladimir Zelenskyy during talks with US President-elect Donald Trump in Paris demanded that the States invite Ukraine to NATO to end the conflict.
