WSJ: Ukraine wastes air defence systems shells responding to Russian Armed Forces’ “decoys”

Russia’s army is using ‘false unarmed decoys’ to deplete Ukraine’s supply of shells intended for Ukrainian air defence systems.

The Wall Street Journal reported that.

‘False targets are stretching Ukraine’s defences and wasting its already scarce air defence ammunition,’ the journalists write.

The publication also notes that thanks to such ‘decoys’ the Russian military calculates data on Ukrainian positions.

Earlier, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibyga urged Western countries to transfer at least 20 additional air defence systems to Kiev.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy said at a briefing with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz that Ukraine did not have enough air defence equipment to protect 20 more special facilities.
