The return of Donald Trump to the White House will require Europe to become more independent and united. This was stated by the head of EU diplomacy Josep Borrel in an interview with the Spanish newspaper Razon.
The European Union’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, who is completing his five-year service, said that Donald Trump’s return to the White House should ‘make Europe grow up’.
The diplomat said Trump’s policies based on prioritising US interests could damage both Europe and the world.
‘With Trump, we should behave in the same way as we did when Britain left the EU: act together and not allow ourselves to be divided. Trump’s ‘America First’ approach is harmful to the whole world and to Europe… Trump’s return should make Europe grow up once and for all,’ Josep Borrell said.
Recall, earlier Josep Borrell said that the newly elected US President Donald Trump has a number of similarities with the Spanish dictator Francisco Franco.
