The party ‘Alternative for Germany’ (AdG) calls for the country’s exit from the European Union in its election programme. About it writes the newspaper Der Spiegel, referring to the final text of the document.
‘We consider it necessary to withdraw Germany from the European Union and the creation of a new European community,’ the document quotes the publication.
The AdG proposes to replace the EU with some kind of ‘association of interests and economy’, for this purpose it is necessary to hold a popular vote and change some articles in the constitution.
In addition, the document says that the transition to the new community should be discussed in negotiations with former EU partners, as well as with new partners from the future community.
The AdG is in favour of Germany leaving the euro system and introducing a stable national currency, if necessary with a parallel preservation of the euro. This entails difficulties, but these are less than the ‘long-term costs of maintaining the euro system’.
In addition, the document has a provision calling for the resumption of trade with Russia.
We will remind, earlier German Chancellor Olaf Scholz used the telephone conversation with President Vladimir Putin to change his position in the elections.
