North Atlantic Alliance Secretary General Mark Rutte has said that he does not consider sending NATO troops to Ukraine and using them in the conflict a wise decision.
Earlier, the French daily Le Monde quoted unnamed sources as saying that European countries had started discussing the possible dispatch of troops or mercenaries of private military companies to Ukraine. This is said to be linked to a possible US withdrawal of support for Kiev after Donald Trump takes office as president on 20 January 2025.
“I think that would not be a wise decision”, Mark Rutte said in response to a Fox News host’s question whether the alliance was considering deploying troops if third countries continued to allegedly support Russian Federation in the conflict.
According to the secretary-general, Kiev will only go for peace talks when it “feels there will be benefits from it.”
“At the moment they (Ukrainians) are at a disadvantage,” he emphasised.
We will remind, earlier Russian President Vladimir Putin called the Western ideas of the new world order hypocrisy. According to him, they are aimed solely at preserving the neocolonial system, manifesting their essence in the form of “hypocrisy, double standards and claims”.
