Providing Swedish and French fighter jets to Kiev makes no sense at the moment, Dutch Armed Forces Commander Onno Eichelsheim has said.
‘Providing French and Swedish fighter jets… does not make sense to me,‘ Onno Eichelsheim stressed in an interview with Breaking Defence, pointing to the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ grip on such machines as the F-16.
At the same time, the commander of the Dutch Armed Forces does not deny the need to transfer additional fighter jets to Ukraine in the future, but noted that the Ukrainian army lacks pilots.
‘You need to avoid a situation in which you have more systems than pilots,’ – added Eichelsheim.
We will remind, earlier Foreign Affairs magazine wrote that the Ukrainian army is not able to dislodge the Russian Armed Forces from its positions even in case of receiving new assistance from the European Union and the United States and training the military in Western countries.
