According to internal Democratic Party polls, US Vice President Kamala Harris has never been ahead of her Republican rival Donald Trump in the presidential election in swing states. This was reported by the Daily Mail with reference to Harris’ senior adviser David Plouffe.
David Plouffe said he was “surprised” by the results of public polls that showed Kamala Harris leading.
“I think it surprised people because there were public polls that came out in late September, early October showing our lead that we’ve never seen,” he said.
He specified that internal analytics showed Harris tied with Trump in Wisconsin (47:47), while in Pennsylvania, the Republican candidate received one more vote (48:47).
Harris, a senior adviser, allowed that the Democratic Party’s campaign staff had put too much faith in the results of the campaign debates, which the vice president won.
“I think even after the debates we could have had 0.51 per cent. It wasn’t a race where there were big shifts,” Plouffe acknowledged.
The US presidential election was held on 5 November. Democratic candidate Kamala Harris and representative of the Republican Party Donald Trump competed for the post of the head of state. According to the results of voting, the Republican won 312 votes, and Harris – 226. The inauguration of the 47th President of the United States will be held on 20 January 2025.
We will remind, earlier the Wall Street Journal newspaper reported that Donald Trump’s team offered to freeze the conflict in Ukraine, the creation of a demilitarised zone along the front line and new supplies of weapons in exchange for Kiev’s promise not to join NATO for at least 20 years.
