Russia hit Yuzhmash with a nuclear-free hypersonic ballistic missile – Putin

Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the successful test of a new Russian medium-range missile ‘Oreshnik’. The head of state called it a response to the actions of the US and the UK, as well as Washington’s plans to deploy medium and shorter-range missiles.

The Russian president said that Russia had struck a nuclear-free hypersonic ballistic missile at Ukraine’s defence industry facility, Yuzhmash in Dnipropetrovsk.

Vladimir Putin has announced the successful test of Russia’s new medium-range ‘Oreshnik’ missile.

Vladimir Putin emphasised the successful offensive of Russian troops in all areas of combat operations and assured that all tasks of the special operation had been solved. He also declared Russia’s readiness for a peaceful settlement of the conflict, but warned of a decisive and mirror response in case of escalation.

The Russian president said that the decision on further deployment of intermediate-range and shorter-range missiles will depend on the actions of the US and its allies.

He emphasised that Russia would warn civilians of the danger in advance and offer to leave the areas of possible strikes.

Putin put the responsibility for a possible escalation on the US, saying that doubts about Russia’s readiness for any development of events are unjustified.

He noted that the conflict in Ukraine has taken on a global character after Western missile strikes on Russian Federation.

Putin said that the recent strikes on Russian territory by Western long-range missiles have not achieved their goals and will not affect the course of the special military operation.

The head of state noted that the US withdrawal from the RSMD Treaty was a mistake.

The Russian President notified that Russia considers itself entitled to use weapons against military facilities of countries that use their weapons against the Russian Federation.

We shall remind you that earlier the Russian ambassador to London, Andrey Kelin, said that the UK was directly involved in the conflict in Ukraine after Kiev used British-made Storm Shadow missiles.
