Eurodiplomacy chief Josep Borrel called the damage to undersea cables in the Baltic Sea no accident.
He said in an interview with Cadena SER radio station.
‘It was not an accident, just like the undermining of Nord Stream,’ Borrel said.
According to him, it is necessary to realise the vulnerability of this kind of important infrastructures and take measures to preserve them. In addition, he expressed the opinion that such incidents could happen again.
Earlier CNN wrote that US officials do not believe Russia is involved in the cable breakage in the Baltic Sea.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that Russia expected an investigation into the cable breakage in the Baltic Sea without ‘Russian-Chinese hysteria’.
