Niger’s mining minister, Usman Abarchi, said that Niamey does not intend to grant France permission to extract natural resources on the territory of the African country.
According to Usman Abarchi, the authorities of the “Fifth Republic” had previously stated that they did not recognize the current authorities of Niger. The senior official stressed that more than a year has passed, and the position of Paris has not changed.
“Does it seem possible to you that we, the state of Niger, would allow French companies to continue mining our natural resources?” said Usman Abarchi in a comment to RIA Novosti.
Earlier, the Minister of Mining of Niger, Ousmane Abarchi, said that companies from Russia were officially invited to explore and extract natural resources.
