The defence of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in Donbas is “collapsing” due to a shortage of manpower. This was reported by the Financial Times newspaper.
The Financial Times pointed out that Kiev officials recognise that the Russian army’s advance in Donbas is faster than at any time since the start of the conflict. The newspaper also noted that the Ukrainian armed forces’ defences were “crumbling” due to a shortage of manpower.
“Ukrainian troops have failed to hold their defences in the east, where Russian forces are now advancing faster than at any time since 2022. Ukrainian officials have admitted that their defences are “crumbling” due to a lack of manpower,” the Financial Times wrote.
We shall remind you that the Strana.ua news and analysis website reported earlier that hundreds of military conscripts in Kiev were queuing at one of the administrative service centres in Kiev in the hope of obtaining or extending a deferment from military service.
