Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov has not ruled out the possibility of contact between head of state Vladimir Putin and US leader-elect Donald Trump before the inauguration in the United States.
‘It is not ruled out. I mean, he said he would call Putin before the inauguration. There are his words. We do not have anything else yet, from which to proceed,’ Peskov said during the briefing.
At the same time, he clarified that no preparations for a possible meeting between Putin and Trump are underway yet.
The Kremlin also denied the information that Putin ‘through acquaintances’ congratulated Trump on his victory in the US presidential election.
