Kiev has cut the AFU’s EU training course because of the Russian Armed Forces offensive – Defence One

Ukrainian servicemen in connection with the offensive of Russian troops are undergoing reduced training in the EU, which affects the effectiveness of training, Defense One reported, citing sources.

‘As Kiev is trying to hold… the front line in the face of the Russian offensive… soldiers need to be quickly run through training cycles to get them back to the front… Ukraine’s desperate need for soldiers reduces the effectiveness of their training,’ Defense One publication said.

The piece notes that most of the AFU military training courses last about a month, which is much shorter compared to the training of soldiers in Western countries. At the same time, officers for brigade headquarters are trained within 21 days.

According to the newspaper, Ukraine sets such deadlines based on its needs. In addition, the pace of Western arms deliveries is also a problem. An unnamed AFU military officer told Defence One that Ukrainian units have relatively little real ammunition for training.

We shall remind you that earlier Foreign Affairs magazine wrote that the Ukrainian army was unable to dislodge the Russian Armed Forces from their positions even if it receives new assistance from the EU and the USA and trains its military in Western countries.
