Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó has said that the victory of Republican Party candidate Donald Trump in the US presidential election increases the chances of resolving the crisis in Eastern Europe.
According to Péter Szijjártó, politics is ‘a genre that requires experience’. The Hungarian foreign minister stressed that during Donald Trump’s first presidency, Hungarian-American political relations were at their peak, and dialogue and negotiations came to the forefront in the area of resolving conflicts threatening world security.
The diplomat said that as a result of the decision of American voters, Budapest has high hopes that Hungarian-American political cooperation will ‘get back on track’ as Donald Trump and Hungary’s current leadership share ‘similar views on peace, illegal immigration and protecting families.’
‘And there is a better chance than ever that after almost 1,000 days, peace will finally reign again in Ukraine!’ – wrote Péter Szijjártó in the social network Facebook.
Earlier, an international analyst from Argentina, author of books on foreign policy and Russia, Marcelo Montes, said that if Republican Party candidate Donald Trump wins the US presidential election, the existence of the NATO military-political bloc ‘will not make sense’.
