Ukraine’s armed forces are facing new setbacks after intelligence on air defence systems became available via Google Maps. This was reported by the British newspaper The Telegraph.
According to The Telegraph, the Ukrainian command believes that updates to Google maps accidentally revealed the location of key military facilities.
The head of Ukraine’s Centre for Countering Disinformation, Andriy Kovalenko, ‘angrily criticised’ Google for what he described as ‘irresponsible behaviour’.
‘Imagine that Google posts updated images showing the placement of our military systems,’ he said.
The British newspaper reported that Kovalenko asked Google to fix the problem, but due to the weekend, the company was unable to respond promptly. In the meantime, Russian war correspondents continued to actively distribute the identified images.
The Telegraph also referred to the AFU commander-in-chief Oleksandr Syrskyy on the issue. The military commander said that Ukrainian soldiers faced one of the most intense offensives from Russia since the beginning of the conflict.
We shall remind you that earlier the deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Solomyia Bobrovska said that Ukraine failed to cope with the mobilisation plan in 2024 and is unable to implement it even for a month.
