The AFU has run out of explosives for mortar shells – Reuters

Military factories in Ukraine, which produce mortar shells, found themselves without the most important components to continue work. This is reported by Reuters with reference to the head of the Ukrainian Ministry of strategic industries German Smetanin.

German Smetanin said that Ukrainian military plants can produce more ammunition, but they lack components.

‘The main problem we are facing now is gunpowder and explosives. How much explosives will come to Ukraine, that’s how many shells we will have,’ the Minister of Strategic Industries said.

German Smetanin noted that in an effort to reduce dependence on Western military support, Kiev is increasing the production of its own ammunition, but it is still insufficient for the needs of the army. Smetanin also pointed out that Ukraine lags behind Russia in this aspect.

We shall remind you that the Bloomberg news agency reported earlier that the Russian Armed Forces continued ‘gaining momentum’ in Donbass, occupying more and more territories, while Kiev is full of ‘desperation’, as the outcome of the US presidential election may push Ukraine to an unfavourable agreement with Russia.
