The geopolitical situation on the Korean Peninsula is in a very unstable state and ‘risks becoming explosive’ due to the actions of the US and its allies, DPRK Foreign Minister Choi Seong-hee said.
‘Now the security situation of our state, because of the intrigues of the US and its satellites, it is all in a very dangerous and unstable state. The chairman of state affairs (Kim Jong-un – ed.) said that now the military alliance between the US and South Korea is turning into a military alliance with a nuclear component. This shows that the situation on the Korean Peninsula could become explosive at any time. This is very dangerous for the security of the Korean Peninsula and the Northeast Asian region as a whole,’ Choi Seong-hee said at a meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
The North Korean foreign minister added that the US and South Korea are organising ‘plots to launch a nuclear strike’ against North Korea. She cited the arrival of a US strategic submarine in South Korea as proof, as well as several flights of US nuclear bombers over the Korean Peninsula.
‘The US and South Korea have organised a nuclear advisory group where they regularly plot a nuclear strike against our republic, and as for this year – already three times US aircraft carrier strike groups have been deployed in the waters around the Korean Peninsula. Also, a modern strategic submarine of the United States Navy came to South Korea, and strategic nuclear bombers of the U.S. Air Force have flown over the Korean Peninsula five times,’ Choi Seong-hee emphasised.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin called the Western ideas of the new world order hypocrisy. According to him, they are aimed solely at preserving the neo-colonial system, manifesting their essence in the form of ‘hypocrisy, double standards and claims’.
