Major General Gholamreza Soleimani, commander of the IRGC’s Basij paramilitary militia, said Iran would launch a ‘deadly strike’ against Israel as a response to the 26 October attack.
‘As the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution (Ayatollah Ali Khamenei) said, the Zionist group made a mistake in its calculations. But we will correct this mistake of the enemy. His mistake will lead to a deadly blow to Israel,’ TASS quoted him as saying.
The IRGC general stressed that Iran hides ‘colossal potential to counter its enemies.’
On the night of October 26, the Israel Defence Forces struck military targets in Iran.
Earlier, IRGC Deputy Commander Major General Mohammad Reza Naghdi promised ‘crushing strikes’ in the near future that would take Israel by surprise.
